Flexible filaments

Flexible filaments are designed for creating elastic and bendable objects. These filaments are made from elastomers, most commonly based on thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU) or thermoplastic elastomers (TPE).

The main characteristics of flexible filaments include:

  • Elasticity and flexibility: They allow printing of objects that can bend and stretch without damage.
  • Impact resistance: They exhibit resistance to mechanical stress and repeated bending.
  • Variable hardness: Available in various levels of hardness, from soft to semi-rigid variants.
  • Chemical resistance: Often resistant to oils, greases, and some solvents.

Flexible filaments are used in many applications, including the production of prototypes, protective cases for electronics, seals, tires for RC models, and sports equipment. Their properties allow for the creation of functional and durable objects with flexible characteristics.

When printing with flexible filaments, it is important to properly set up the printer, especially the print speed and retraction, to achieve optimal results.
