Fiberlogy PEI 9085
Fiberlogy PEI 9085 is a filament made from ULTEM™ 9085 resin, known for its exceptional strength and rigidity. This material is regularly used in the most demanding industries, such as aerospace, railway, and automotive. Thanks to its unique properties, such as flame resistance (UL 94 V0) and non-toxicity, it is approved and valued by aircraft manufacturers (FAR 25.853) and the railway industry (EN 45545). Components made from ULTEM™ resin are an effective replacement for metal parts, combining the durability of steel and the lightness of aluminum, which allows for reduced time and costs associated with the development and production of fully functional parts.
Product usage
PEI 9085 is ideal for applications designed to operate in extreme conditions. Its high resistance to abrasion, temperatures up to 180°C, solvents, and UV radiation makes it an excellent choice for the following areas:
- Aerospace: mechanical parts, structural elements, ventilation components
- Automotive industry: engine components, spare parts, sensor covers
- Electronics: connectors, electronic housings, cable insulation, fuel cell components
- Defense industry: weapon system covers, lighting covers, optical system covers
Usage recommendations
For the best results when printing with PEI 9085, it is essential to use 3D printers adapted for processing high-temperature materials (e.g., PEEK, PEKK, PEI). It is also important to use a heated chamber to ensure even heat distribution. Recommended printing parameters include:
- Nozzle temperature: 350-380°C
- Bed temperature: 160°C
- Chamber temperature: >80°C
- Printing speed: 30-60 mm/s
- Adhesive agent: Magigoo Pro HT
- Drying conditions: 120°C / 6 hours – higher drying temperatures may lead to spool deformation
Technical parameters
- Diameter: 1.75 mm
- Diameter tolerance: +/- 0.02 mm
- Average roundness: < 0.01 mm
- Net weight: 500 g
- Specific density: 1.34 g/cm³
- Tensile strength: 71 MPa
- Flexural strength: 120 MPa
- Modulus of elasticity: 2750 MPa
- Heat deflection temperature: 153°C
